Almost Done!

I only have 4 more days to school Logan till we are done for the year! It has been a very interesting journey. We started off using My Father's World 1st grade reading and RightStart B math. RightStart Math lasted for one 9 weeks. After the first nine weeks, she took the corrosponding test and failed. The curriculum did not have enough written work for her. RS is basically all hands-on. Logan was ok with the hands on work, but could not translate what she had learned onto paper. We changed to Christian Light Education 1st math. It was a tough curriculum, but more what she need. She will have finished half of CLE 1st math this year (LU's 101-105). I am pleased with this since she is only in K. MFW 1st reading lasted for two 9 weeks, then the reading started going soooooo fast. She couldn't keep up with learning one phonogram a day. We then switched to CLE's Learn to Read 1st grade program. I didn't start in the beginning, but found where she was and started with that Light Unit. CLE's LTR program is the first half of CLE's 1st grade program. So, Logan will have completed half of CLE's 1st grade for K.

Being able to change and adapt your curriculum to meet your child's needs is one of the awesome things about homeschoolong!
