A couple of days ago, I started looking at the book "Language and Thinking for Young Children" by Ruth Beechick and Jeannie Nelson scheduled in the first several weeks of Sonlight KLA. Memorization is the first topic of study. The book lists several songs, rhymes and chants that the children are to learn. I wanted to make a play list of these songs for my children on my ipod. I searched the web and itunes and couldn't find the rhymes with the exact wording listed in the book. So, I decided to record myself singing and chanting. My husband had bought a Zoom Handy Recorder H2 so he could do interviews at work. It lets you record in mp3 format. I recorded myself singing and voila! I popped the songs into itune and made a play list for my kido's. I mixed up the play list with some other "store bought" songs. When the songs I sang came on, my kids froze and started looking at me then at the ipod player. It was hilarious!!!! I told them I had made song for them. It was great!
I haven't recorded all the song needed, but I will be working on it and adding them to my download folder on the blog. Please feel free to download the songs to your mp3player for your kids. It's a freebie as always!
